As of December 2024, Chair Feather noted he had reviewed the staff report and saw improvements to the proposal. He voted yes on the motion to recommend approval at the June 23, 2025 Planning Commission meeting (which failed 2–4) and no on the motion to recommend denial (which passed 4–2). A July 2026 transcript excerpt references Feather as having specifically focused, during a Board of Architectural Review meeting for a separate adjacent project, on the horizontal setback of a fitness center from the curb and edge of a building.

At the February 9, 2026 meeting, Chair Feather was noted as having raised the need to discuss the plan for the Planning Commission's presentation at the City Council CIP session the following evening. Chair Feather is also referenced as presiding over the March 9, 2026 annual report and implementation guide consideration.

Chair Feather noted on both March 24, 2025 and May 12, 2025 that demolition of the unused portion of the INOVA site is moving forward, indicating ongoing awareness and monitoring of the project's progress.

On June 23, 2025, Chair Feather noted the five-year anniversary of the Old Town Small Area Plan's adoption and flagged an open Planning Commission seat on the Board of Architectural Review. At the June 8, 2026 work session, Feather acknowledged the concern that much of the Old Town small area plan may already be committed to by the time updates are completed, and suggested there might be benefit in expediting the Old Town (and potentially Northfax) updates at the expense of delaying the other two plans.

Feather attended both the 2024 and 2025 GIS Day events at George Mason University, helping Rice host city staff presenters. At the November 24, 2025 meeting, he congratulated Rice on the success of the 2025 GIS Day event and noted his own role in helping put together the 2024 mayoral proclamation recognizing GIS Day in the City of Fairfax.

At the December 2025 meeting (via email notice read into the record), Chair Feather reminded commissioners that the January 2026 meeting would include appointments for board and commission representatives, specifically naming the PRAB as one of the seats to be filled. At the January 2026 meeting, Feather noted of Rice's nomination: 'Mr. Rice has agreed to serve. He's done wonderfully.'

Feather has served as Planning Commission liaison to the BAR since October 2025 and has provided BAR updates at multiple meetings (November 2024 via Denton, then directly from November 2025 onward). In a June 2026 work session, Feather commented favorably on a development applicant's incorporation of red brick and discussed the BAR's interest in mixing 'the ancient and the modern,' while explicitly declining to predict how the BAR would rule. On July 13, 2026, Feather reported that both BAR meetings in July had been canceled and there was nothing to report.

At the February 10, 2025 Planning Commission meeting, Chair Feather reported attending a 'Breakfast with the Chairs' meeting and noted an upcoming meeting with the Economic Development Office, referenced in the same agenda item as Commissioner Rice's Old Town Hall comments.
