Hardy-Chandler voted yes on Resolution R-25-20 reaffirming the full project on June 10, 2025, and no on both the western-half-only and full cancellation motions. Hardy-Chandler voted yes to introduce the December 2025 supplemental appropriation and yes on the January 2026 supplemental appropriation vote. Moved to adopt the agenda at the June 24, 2025 meeting and voted yes on appointing resident representatives to the Move Fairfax City Steering Committee. Voted no on the January 13, 2026 resolution to cancel the George Snyder Trail Project.
On June 24, 2025, Hardy-Chandler made the motion to adopt the resolution authorizing quick-take condemnation powers, including the amendments to correct owner spellings and delete parcels 004 and 047. On April 28, 2026, Hardy-Chandler moved to authorize the purchasing agent to award the $21,770,570 construction contract to Fort Myer Construction Corporation.
Hardy-Chandler made the motions for both the special exceptions (Oct. 14, 2025) and the resolution to proceed to construction (Apr. 28, 2026), in each case explicitly including the language designating the Sherwood building addition as optional and, ultimately, excluding the performing arts renovation. She expressed enthusiasm at the Apr. 28, 2026 meeting, noting it was thrilling to see the project come to fruition and thanking staff for incorporating resident feedback and identifying cost efficiencies.
At the November 18, 2025 meeting, Council Member Hardy-Chandler made the motion to enact the ordinance authorizing and approving the Deed of Easement with Fairfax County Water Authority for water main installation.
